FAQs
What’s The Big Deal?
Agua was created as a vision to make swimming a more fun, more accessible activity. The basic concept of Agua is to take the pool portion of the gym or hotel, and put it by itself- in an iconic, urban location. Along with complete modern decor, and a state-of-the-art, technologically advanced environment, will come AguaBar, a concept within a concept that will be 100% virgin, making it a destination for people of all ages.
I don’t get it. What makes it different from today’s options?
In today’s economy, if you would like to go swimming on some day, you would have a few options to choose from- those being to have a gym membership or trial membership with strings attached, or you could purchase an expensive day pass, in which going in or out, you would have to guide yourself through a large, confusing facility. Also, you would have to be a paying guest at an hotel, or you could own a pool yourself- which is surely the costliest of options, and also you would have to maintain it. Does your favorite activity feel a little out of reach yet? If so, Agua is there to help. Open 7 days a week for an entry cost of $10 per person, low cost and availability is one of our many pros that sets us apart. Another pro that sets Agua apart from the rest would be location- based in Detroit, Michigan, we understand just how cold the winter can get. Would you really want to swim in a gym or hotel pool after paying an outrageous price, and then have to guide yourself through the famous suburban parking desert afterwards? At Agua, after your swim, you can go thru a state of the art drying room, which dries you completely, preparing you for the cold outside. After you walk out the door, you will find yourself streetside in some of the most beautiful urban settings in the world. While the valet charge is to be $5, when you check in with your phone at the lockers (keyless entry), it lets valet know that you’re in, and when you check out from your locker, valet is automatically notified and will send for your car, so you don’t have to wait any longer than you have to. All around, Agua is a completely new experience.
What do you mean “urban setting?” What makes location better?
Agua is based in Detroit, Michigan. This city is known for its abandonment and blight, and it is a serious problem. However, it’s not all bad. In downtown Detroit, anyone can quickly notice that change is taking place- new stores, construction, restaurants- the city is back again. We love Detroit so much that we are committed to opening our first Agua location on Lower Woodward- one of the most iconic shopping districts in the country. With new stores popping up every day, Woodward is becoming the place to be. Agua will join retailers such as John Varvatos, Restoration Hardware, Somerset City Loft, The Detroit Shoppe, Cornerstone Barrel House, and many more to come. After the Detroit location, we plan to open locations in more locations known for their urban beauty, such as Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Los Angeles, Times Square in New York, even Back Bay in Boston. Now, what makes locations like these so much better than those in current situations? For one, the parking desert- no amazing customer should have to endure it. Also, urban locations will attract more diverse customers since they are tourist attractions, like people from around the world. Having an urban location also enhances walkability around the business, which will encourage customers to check out our neighbors, even come back regularly.
